After looking into different refinishing companies I decided to support a local business, Georgia Hydrographics Inc. of Comer, GA. My rifle was originally Duracoated 3 years ago in Flat Dark Earth. The coating held up well, but in the last year my weapon has experienced a lot of abuse and was in need of a makeover!
What immediately sold me on GHI was their great customer service and dedication to giving their customers exactly what they want. Alan (owner of GHI) took the time to answer my questions about pricing, the dipping process, turn around time and different pattern options they offer.
For this project, I decided on the Multicam pattern to match my other gear. GHI offers a wide variety of patterns including some created in house by their design team. If you are looking for a solid color, Cerakote and Anodizing is an option. The miscellaneous pieces and barrel on my weapon were Cerakoted black.
General turn around time, shipping included, is about 3 to 5 weeks. I came to Alan with a 2 1/2 week deadline to finish this weapon before a carbine class...They came through as promised and the finish looks amazing.
So far I have put about 300 rounds through this weapon and there are no signs of wear on the Cerakote or Hydrographics. If you are looking for high quality refinishing at a reasonable price, call my friends at Georgia Hydrographics Inc.
